Masters of Illusion

This video talks about the idea of perspective. It talks about how to make a two-dimensional figure or picture plane look three-dimensional. Brunelleschi figured out a scientific method to achieve linear perspective but it took many years for artists to begin mastering this method of linear perspective. Linear perspective was not just demonstrated on canvas, many artists during the Renaissance used linear perspective when creating their sculptures.
Da Vinci was one of the first to explore the techniques involved to created the illusions of depth and space. He made discoveries about the characteristics of light and shadows as well and how they help us to perceive an object.
